Property Management Services
Universal Properties provides fiscal maintenance of properties entrusted to the company, maximizing earnings while maintaining and improving all physical plants. Day-to-day operation and management includes on-site supervision and inspection, recruitment, management and development of on-site staff, and tenant relations. Other property management services include a full range of commercial and residential leasing services, detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on operational, management and financial activities, as well as supplier, banking, and mortgage company liaisons. Residential Division
Since the mid-1990’s, Universal Properties has been one of the most trusted and reliable providers of residential accommodations in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). With a growing inventory of over 2000 apartment units, Universal provides a variety of living accommodations to meet both short-term and long-term needs.

Commercial Division
Universal Properties has developed a portfolio of high quality office buildings, warehouses, and multi-service complexes, which are strategically located in prime business locations within the HRM. The Commercial division of the company exceeds 1,200,000 square feet of rentable area. All properties offer the latest in building mechanical and technological systems within flexible lease spaces. Universal’s hands-on management style is reflected in its quality properties, satisfied commercial tenants and clients it represents.
Retail and Other Services
Universal Properties operates over 100,000 square feet of retail and other multi-use space in the Bedford, Dartmouth and downtown Halifax areas of the HRM. Retail properties range from convenience malls to a prominent shopping complex on Spring Garden Road.
Universal Contracts Limited
In addition to the core property management services, Universal Properties has diversified into other management opportunities and business ventures, including hotel renovations and new construction. Universal Contracts Limited, a division of Universal Property Management Limited, has built a sound reputation within the business and development communities through its multi-faceted undertakings. Universal Contracts has been involved in several multi-million dollar projects, including the restoration of a landmark hotel, extensive office building renovations and new construction. Recently Universal undertook two major construction projects, including an expansive renovation and repositioning of a shopping complex as well as the construction of an upscale apartment building in downtown Halifax.
Our Corporate Team
Our corporate structure allows Universal to provide dedicated property managers for each division who provide day-to-day operational management.
